How it works
The DS1307 serial real-time clock is a low-power, complete binary coded decimal (BCD) clock/calendar plus 56-bit bytes of NV SRAM. address and data are transmitted serially via IIC, bidirectional bus. The clock/calendar provides information on seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years. The last day of the month automatically adjusts the number of days in the month to less than 31, including correction for leap years. The clock runs in 24-hour or 12-hour format with AM/PM indicators.
